Amazon Recalls Power Banks Due To Fire Hazard

If you have power banks in your home or business you should go and check them now. Today (13/03/18) Amazon has issued a recall on over 260,000 AmazonBasics portable chargers.

Amazon received 53 reports of the power banks overheating, including one report of a user being burnt by battery acid and four reports of property damage due to fire and smoke.

The recall has affected 6 versions of the Amazonbasics portable charger that were sold between December 2014 and July 2017.

Contained within these powerbanks, and all other portable chargers is a lithium-ion battery. These have become very popular over the last few years as users power demands grow with a more connected world.
